The Visitor Center is conveniently located at 1215 N. State Road 49, Porter, IN 46304, just north of the Indiana Toll Road and Interstate 94, and south of U.S. 20.
Get a taste of local Hoosier history before you explore. With our ever-changing exhibit room you can learn about the history and ecology of the Indiana Dunes at our in-house movie theatre, peruse educational materials in our bookstore, and take in the building’s eco-friendly architecture. You might even pick up a few ideas about some environmentally-friendly things you can do at home.

In honor of the daring and free spirit of Alice Mabel Gray, also know as Diana, a nearby sand hill has been named “Diana’s Dune.” You can now hike in Alice’s footsteps and explore the natural wonders of her beloved Dunes terrain.
