If you enjoy live performances that stretch the boundaries of the ordinary, then you'll love the Chicago Street Theatre. The theatre has also won national and international awards and is known for its original works.

Chicago Street Theatre's Education Program

Chicago Street Theatre is serious about sharing its passion for performance with the younger generation. Providing quality education in the arts to students for over 25 years, Chicago Street makes its programs available to kids as young as four-years-old. They can develop skills in acting, directing, staging, technical production, and even makeup and costume design! Students have the benefit of working with experienced staff and artists who can help students realize their strengths and learn the importance of creative collaboration.

Shakespeare in the Park

Every summer, Chicago Street Theatre provides a beautiful outdoor production of Shakespeare at Valparaiso's Central Park Plaza.  Over 1,000 people gather under the stars to experience the annual Shakespeare in the Park. It has become one of the Indiana Dunes area's most popular annual events, and according to the CST team, it's a way to really connect to the community.

Unique Seasons

According to Lisa Formosa-Parmigiano, Education Director at Chicago Street Theatre, the variety and value of past productions really drew her to CST. "Chicago Street is always going to produce something—not every season, and not every show—that may address something that isn't comfortable to talk about, but they are willing to let the art speak for itself," she said, adding that they're known as a theatre that doesn't shy away from the "cutting edge."
