Go Local in the Indiana Dunes with Indiana Grown

Going local isn’t just a trend. It’s a way to know where your products come from, who makes them, and a chance to honor the hard work that goes into whatever you buy. When you buy local products in Indiana Dunes Country, you’re taking a little piece of our area home with you. We’ve put together a list of 8 great places to find products that are made right here in dunes country! And even better – they’re all members of Indiana Grown, a statewide organization that certifies products as honest to goodness Indiana made.

  1. Acton Creative

Owner Chris makes beautiful textile pieces, transforming fiber into purses, wallets, and other custom pieces. You’ve got to look at how she uses old neckties in her pieces!

  1. Hoosier Bat

Ever wonder where the pros get their bats made? Right here in Indiana Dunes Country, of course! Check out how precisely those stripes are hand painted on every bat – it amazes us every time!

  1. Running Vines Winery

Love to run? You’ll love the running-inspired names behind these wines. And if you don’t run, you’ll still love sitting and sipping.

  1. Valpo Velvet Ice Cream

Owned for three generations, this ice cream shop also has soups, sandwiches, and yummy sorbet. Call ahead and schedule a group tour – our favorite part is checking out the walk-in freezer. Brrrr!

  1. Aftermath Cidery

You can’t resist these ciders! Sweet, tangy, refreshing, and what’s so cool is that this local business gives back to disaster relief in the state of Indiana. They also serve flatbreads and charcuterie spreads.

  1. Dagger Mountain Roastery

A cup of coffee served with a passion. This local spot treats coffee tasting like wine tasting, and we love the look of cafe!

  1. Chesterton’s European Market

An outdoor market in the heart of downtown Chesterton that features fresh foods, artisan made products, and a variety of seasonal goods. Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
