Volunteer! Great Rattlesnake (Manna Grass) Roundup
The Great Marsh is a unique wetland habitat that helps purify water before it enters Lake Michigan, assisted in part by the specialized plants of the marsh. As part of our continuing restoration efforts to create a corridor of habitats for our native pollinators, we need your help in collecting seeds of Rattlesnake Manna Grass! This season the marsh has blessed us with a bumper crop of this easy-to-collect seed, and the staff would like to harvest as much of it as possible. Time 9:00 am – noon.
Parking will be available on the south side of Beverly Drive. Feel free to stay as little or long as youd like! Please dress appropriately for the weather by coming prepared with:
- Protective waterproof boots or high-top hiking boots
