Winter in Indiana Dunes Country

When the cold winds blow and the snow falls, a whole new world of adventure opens up in Indiana Dunes Country. The Indiana Dunes and surrounding areas, with their miles of trails through a variety of terrain, are especially appealing to cross-country skiers. Just be sure to bring your own skis (or snowshoes) because there currently aren’t any rentals.

Winter in Indiana Dunes Country also provides some breathtaking sightseeing, including snowy owls and spectacular Lake Michigan shelf ice. Want to bring the kids? Try one-of-a-kind sledding down Devil’s Slide at Indiana Dunes State Park or the more structured hills at Rogers-Lakewood Park in Valparaiso.
