Located in the state-of-art Center for the Arts on the Valparaiso University campus, the Brauer Museum of Art is home to a nationally recognized collection of 19th and 20th-century American art and international religious art. The Brauer Museum of Art maintains a permanent collection of 19th, 20th, and 21st-century American art (including Midwestern regional art) and international religious art. Represented artists include Frederic Edwin Church, Asher B. Durand, Childe Hassam, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Ed Paschke. The museum contains the largest known collection of paintings by Junius R. Sloan (1827-1900), a Hudson River School artist who painted some of the earliest depictions of settlement life on the Midwestern prairie. Please check the museum website for hours.
