Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest, formerly Taltree is a dog-friendly oak preserve of formal gardens, woodlands, wetlands, and prairies that offers a variety of events, classes and exhibits year-round.
Featuring dwarf plants and model steam engine trains, the exhibit showcases the impact steam engine trains had on early 19th century US railroads. Check the website for special events.

Led by harmonica Master and songwriter Pierre Lacocque, Mississippi Heat is a world-class Chicago Blues band. Their motto is "Traditional Blues with a Unique Sound" as they present fresh yet vintage-based musical ideas. Mississippi Heats' name is a reflection of Pierre's reverence for Mississippi's blues culture and music. The band's conviction is that there is not deeper music than Delta-inspired blues to express what lies in everyone's soul.
The members of Mojo Daddy are all top-shelf musicians who have achieved considerable success with their respective groups. Throughout their careers, these guys have taken the message of Chicago blues and traveled the world to spread it with artists such as Buddy Guy, Carl Weathersby, the Kinsey Report and the Steepwater Band. These musician's pride themselves on playing with heart and soul, creating an unstoppable energy. Their intense delivery of the music will have you up and dancing, while never letting you forget where our musical debt is owed.
Also, craft beer, wine, and local food favorites will be available to purchase during the concert. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. This is a family-friendly event. Smoking and outside beverages are prohibited.
