Mark Fletcher's paintings are simple, representational style, especially evident in his treatment of the human figure. He focuses on rural life with each narration telling a strong personal story. The stories are of men and women drawing their living from the land and surviving with nature. Minimal landscapes are personal and sensitive, yet clearly vivid in their presentation. Mark's paintings are moody, thought-provoking and even haunting. Mark Fletcher is an artist whose paintings tell stories. The stories are of ourselves as seen through the eyes of a youth who moved about, living in various regions of the country. In 1974, he was enrolled at the Trinity College School, Port Hope, Ontario and began a casual study of painting and art history. His interest in the arst continued into university and flourished into a full-time career.
