Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Chesterton for the largest celebration of MGM’s classic Wizard of Oz.Characters come alive as Dorothys, Glindas, Scarecrows and more take to the streets. Food, crafts, entertainment and more. Click your heels together and join the fun, because there’s no place like Chesterton’s Oz Festival. On September 14-16th, 2012, the Duneland Business Initiative Group will host the 31st Wizard of Oz Festival in Downtown Chesterton, Indiana. When you enter Chesterton, you know you've really entered the land of OZ. Friday afternoon will feature Party in Emerald City, a family oriented picnic with entertainment and the welcome of the celebrities. A celebrity walk will occur in the downtown shops for each celebrity from 2-4 for a more intimate time with the celebrities. Oz authors and artists will be on hand to meet festival-goers as they enter the Land of Oz. Oz Characters will play games with the children and perform skits, Acrobats in the Park, and Face Painters.
