Hola! Spanish for Grades 3-6 at Hageman Library

An 8-week introductory Spanish program for kids in grades 3-6.Westchester Public Library will offer an 8 part introductory Spanish program for kids in grades 3-6. Hola! Spanish will take place at Hageman Library, 100 Francis Street, Porter, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, 1-2 p.m., from June 18-July 11. Registration is required and is currently underway. Local resident Vivian Draves will teach Hola! Spanish. Draves’ experience in teaching Spanish began in 2008 when she organized a local Spanish Club in the Baileytown community, hoping to improve her son’s ability and interest in speaking Spanish. Eventually Yost Elementary asked her to teach an after-school Spanish class to third grade students. She has taught several Spanish learning programs at Hageman Library, where attendance has grown with each program and interest in an adult version of the class generated.
