There's something going on spring through Christmas Eve at this unique nursery in a peaceful, rural setting. If you want to make your own yard a haven, you'll get lots of advice as you stroll through the gardens. Then stock up on annuals, perennials and all kinds of gardening supplies. In the fall, the family will have a great time taking a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick their own and navigating through the corn maze. When winter rolls around, you can cut your own Christmas tree. Producers of quality trees, shrubs and perennials to wholesale and retail customers.
WRF Nursery & Garden Center will open their pumpkin fields to the public the first weekend in October during their Annual Fall Festival. $8 wristbands for children 10 and under; $10 ages 11 and up; free for 2 and under. Each all-inclusive wristband is good for a hayride, a pumpkin from Farmer Kory's U-pick pumpkin patch, and entry into JJ's legendary corn maze. Back at the nursery, this wristband also covers a number of activities such as face painting and kiddie crafts.
Start the season off right. A handful of local crafters will be selling a wide array of handmade holiday gifts, accessories, and decor. You can also select from ready-made fresh evergreen wreaths and arrangements or place an order for a future pickup. Bring your flower pots or containers and they will stuff them full of mixed evergreen boughs, pinecones, premium ribbon, and decorative berries.
Santa is coming to WRF for a special all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. The full menu includes deliciously golden pancakes and syrup, breakfast sausage, juice, and coffee. Kids will have a jolly-good time creating a winter-themed craft to take home and there will be an activity table, story circle and a very magical Christmas tree lighting ceremony in their miniature fairy village. Come hungry and don't forget those cameras.
