Victorian era gardens welcome visitors to the elegant 1885 Brown Mansion, which houses the works of Northern Porter County artists and exhibits that detail the history of the area and saving the Indiana Dunes. Tour the Queen Anne style home and view changing exhibits. You can shop for books about area history and culture, artworks, beach glass jewelry, mugs, Christmas ornaments and more in the museum store.
The Westchester Township History Museum invites kids to its 1920s Summer History Camp! Campers will learn all about life in the 1920s, from baseball to dancing to electricity. There will also be a special field trip to the Indiana Dunes State Park. This session of camp is for kids entering grades 7-10. All campers attend free of charge and receive a t-shirt. Snacks and water will be provided each day. The camp is open to all kids who attend school within the Duneland area.
