A Classical Blast Christmas - Dark Side of the Yule

Date: Sunday, December 10
7:30 p.m. (CT)

It's becoming a CST Christmas tradition. Classical Blast, based out of the Chicago area, is wildly popular for their mix of original music and innovative new arrangements of classic rock tunes, played with cello, acoustic guitar, violin, bass and drums. This is not your typical Christmas concert, and the audience agreed that it was definitely something special. It's like that other big Christmas rock show, only with less lasers and no pyro.

Edgy Drama: CST has built a reputation on works that challenge both artists and audience and this story of the excesses of the Lotusland in no exception. Premiering at Chicago's Goodman Theatre in 1984, Rabe's riveting study of the decadent, perverted, sex-crazed Hollywood cocaine culture took Broadway by storm with Mike Nichol's all-star cast of William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Judith Ivey, Christopher Walken, Harvey Keitel, Cynthia Nixon and Jerry Stiller. Be here to experience the twisted pursuit of the American Dream in what Time Magazine called, "An important work, masterfully accomplished."

Sideways Stories From Wayside School

Dates: March 02 - March 17, 2018
Times vary by date (CT)

Family Fun: You can imagine the confusion at Wayside School when the builder made a terrible mistake. Instead of building 30 classrooms side by side, he built them one on top of another. Perhaps this accounts for all the wacky goings-on in Mrs. Jewls' class where children are being turned into apples or dead rats wearing raincoats and little girls trying to sell their toes. Based on the best selling book series by Louis Sachar, these Sideways Stories are a ridiculously good time for the entire family.

Legendary producer David O.Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, a film adaptation of Margaret Mitchell's novel. The screenplay just isn't working so the Hollywood mogul who is being hounded by the film's stars and gossip reporters, enlists the help of famed screenwriter, Ben Hecht and pulls the formidable director, Victor Fleming off the set of Wizard of Oz to fix it. For the next five days, locked in a room on a diet of bananas and peanuts, it will be up to these men to fashion the screenplay for one of the greatest motion pictures ever made. Based on actual events, this tale of desperation and genius makes for an engaging and hysterical night of entertainment.
