Identifying Raptors 2008Resolution: 568 x 448 | Added on August 26, 2011This second video podcast deals directly with identification. Remember, though, that it helps to know the types of habitat that each species prefers. For example, the merlin (a medium-sized falcon) is often seen lurking for a shorebird breakfast along the lake shore itself. Red-tailed hawks are birds of the open country, and will be commonly seen away from the lake in open country. This is precisely why we developed the Beyond the Beach Discovery Trail. Unless you travel away from the beach itself, you will miss most of what’s happening here! |
