Leave No Child Inside and Connect with Nature!

There's nothing like hiking with a Ranger to learn about the great outdoors

Please join us on Saturday, June 16 as we kick-off summer fun with a leave no child inside event featuring everything from sound and serenity walks to nature games and stories to an underground railroad adventure and more from 9:00am – 3:00p at the Paul H.Douglas Center for Environmental Education.

There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a nature play area, art activities, puppet shows, campfire and stories with Stagecoach Productions, and live turtles and fish!

Themed hikes will take place every hour:
9 a.m. Birding for Beginners
10 a.m. Step into Nature Healthy Hike
11 a.m. Serenity Hike with Pastor Curry
1 p.m. View of Nature from the Freedom Trail
2 p.m. Soundwalk with Midwest Society for Acoustical Ecology

Free refreshments will be on hand and families can make and take home a
nature craft.  Our new outdoor nature play area is  revealed off the main
parking lot.  This area does not have swings but does have things found
outdoors for explorative fun.
