This true bog is a must-see adventure experience. Located several miles inland, away from the rest of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Pinhook Bog has a floating boardwalk where you can view carnivorous plants, sphagnum moss and blueberry bushes. You'll walk above the sponge-like layer on the bog's surface in the most unexpected environment in the dunes. The bog is open during select times when rangers are present. the Upland Trail is also accessed through this parking let and can be enjoyed sunrise to 30 minutes past sunset daily.

Take an hour long self-guided hike into Indiana's only guaking bog. Rangers and volunteers stationed along the trail will help you understand this unique remnant of the last ice age that is filled with carnivorous plants, orchids and many other interesting plants.
