Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities at Kankakee Sands

For those looking to volunteer their time and make a difference at a nature site, Kankakee Sands offers a variety of opportunities.

Join them every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CST through the end of November. Activities change with the seasons and may include seed collection, seed cleaning, and garbage clean-up.

They also have Saturday workdays. The following family-friendly volunteer workdays are scheduled on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. CST.
·         Saturday, July 13th: Controlling Invasive Weeds.
·         Saturday, August 10th: Controlling Invasive Weeds.
·         Saturday, September 14th: Seed Harvest at the Kankakee Sands Nursery.
