Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is one of many regional nonprofits participating in the first ever NWIgives Day on February 12, 2014.
This 24-hour, online giving event, led by Legacy Foundation and Lake Area United Way, strives to unite Northwest Indiana communities in support of the charity organizations that serve in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. The goal of this event is to ignite giving across Northwest Indiana by inspiring residents to make a positive impact on their community.
“Even with holiday giving, the winter is a particularly rough time of year for many nonprofits to keep doing what they do and do it well.” said Alexis R. Faust, President and CEO of Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. “We are excited to partner with other Northwest Indiana nonprofits to raise awareness of this fact through community camaraderie.”
In honor of NWIgives, Taltree Arboretum & Gardens will be offering free entry to all Northwest Indiana residents on Wednesday, February 12 during its regular business hours – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The online giving event begins at 12:01 a.m. CST February 12 and runs until 11:59 p.m. CST. To participate, individuals can go online to make a tax-deductible donation to support the important work local charities, like Taltree Arboretum & Gardens, are doing. All online donations made to Taltree Arboretum & Gardens during NWIgives Day will go directly to preserving Northwest Indiana’s native landscape and conservation education efforts.
