Counties join to recognize outstanding service during National Tourism Week

Local businesses and employees awarded for outstanding service

The Porter County Convention Recreation and Visitor Commission (PCCRVC) and LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau (LPCCVB) are celebrating the sixth year of collectively holding the R.O.S.E. (Recognition of Service Excellence) awards. Each county’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) presents awards to outstanding front-line employees and outstanding service provided by businesses within the travel and tourism industry. This R.O.S.E. Award ceremony will be being held Wednesday May 14 at 11:30am at Aberdeen Manor located on Rt. 2 in Valparaiso.

05/08/2008 Deal Struck to Improve Tourism Services Along Toll Road
The Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) and ITR Concession Co. (ITRCC) have signed a 10 year contract aimed at encouraging improving services to encourage travelers to spend more time and money in northern Indiana. The agreement calls for NITDC to be the sole provider of travel services along the Indiana Toll Road. It will maintain the two staffed visitor centers in Rolling Prairie and Howe.
09/01/2008 Through the Eyes of the Visitor
PCCRVC will present two Community Assessment Workshops, September 17-18, presenting the results of a month-long assessment by Destination Development Inc. Each workshop will focus on specific Porter County communities, what the visitor sees and experiences when in each of the communities, and what local businesses and organizations can do to improve the overall destination experience.

06/02/2010 Northern Indiana to Welcome New Cultural Trail
Seven northern Indiana counties are gearing up for a new cultural trail that features authentic area attractions. The Northern Indiana Art and Earth Trail opens Thursday and includes shops, farms, restaurants, museums and inns. The trail is an initiative of the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission and its seven convention and visitors bureaus.
